Hospital and cancer

Don is still in the hospital. Maybe he'll get out tomorrow. For those of you who don't know, Don is my stepdad and is battling cancers of the gallbladder, liver, and bile ducts. He completed his first round of chemo and radiation last week and was doing really well.
Saturday night to Sunday early morning, the bile tube was leaking and he went in to the hospital that did his surgery. They replaced his tube, but he is still draining bile profusely. This worries Mom and I because this may mean that the cancer has taken over his bile ducts again. Apparently, bile duct cancer is very rare and not easily treated.
He does not want to have surgery right now because he does not want to miss my graduation from college in June. He says he doesn't want to disappoint me. I would really like to have him here, just in case I don't get to see him again, but on the other hand, if he had successful surgery and it meant him missing my college graduation (the first one anyhow), I would rather have him around for more important things, like the birth of our children.
